3 Important Elements of Thanksgiving

3 Important Elements of Thanksgiving - Philippians 4:6-8

Introduction
Today is another Thanksgiving Sunday, we are all excited and joyous in God’s presence, however, some of us might not be doing enough to appreciate the Lord for His faithfulness, blessings, and countless benefits that we daily received. This morning we shall consider certain important elements (factors) that would help us give quality and adequate thanks to the Lord whenever we are opportune to do so.

Apostle Paul was speaking in Philippians 4: 6-8 and he used a word that is an important element in thanksgiving

1. “Think about these things.” Let your mind be lifted to more noble thoughts. And on this Thanksgiving Sunday, think about all the great things God has done for you. Think of all the blessings that God has bestowed upon you, starting with the blessings of this life. God the Creator made you. He gave you your body and your mind, so marvelous in all their inner workings. God continues to take care of you. Think of all the many blessings He showers upon you day by day.
*When I think of the goodness of Jesus and all He has done for me my very soul shall shout Hallelujah, praise God for saving me*
*Count your blessings name them one by one, count your blessings see what God has done, count your blessings, name them one by one and it will surprise you you what God has done.

1 Samuel 1:10-17, 20; 24-27 (Hannah, mother of Samuel)

Think. Think about all the many ways in which God has blessed you over this past months and pst years. Food, shelter, clothing? Family and friends? Health care that helped you? Education? Travel? What things worthy of praise are you grateful for this year? Think about these things.

2. This will lead you into the second element, thank. With deep sense of appreciation you will be able to thank God from the bottom of your heart. No wonder it has been said that he that cannot THINK cannot THANK. - The 10 Lepers Luke 17:12-19

3. If you think, you must be able to thank Him and TALK about His faithfulness either to your friends, family, neighbours, colleagues. You must be able to testify of your experience with Him.
*The blind man born blind in John 9:24-25

Conclusion
Think. Thank. Talk. Those are the words for Thanksgiving of today. Three good words. Don’t forget them, always apply them and you be opening doors for more of God’s blessings, faithfulness and benefits.
Don’t be afraid to tell other people today what you’re grateful to God for. So often we Christians are afraid to open our mouths and tell others what God and his blessings mean to us. THINK, THANK, & TALK (TESTIFY).
