Kingdom Priority - Matthew 6:33

Kingdom Priority - Matthew 6:33

Introduction
Setting priorities is both a spiritual principle and secular principle. Businesses set priorities, individuals set priorities and as believers and joint heirs with Jesus Christ of the Kingdom of God we have been commanded to set priorities. Jesus is the ruler of a new kingdom, and He calls His followers to make pursuing His kingdom a priority. We are called to "seek first" the kingdom of God. The New Living Translation says, "make the kingdom of God your primary concern." The word "first" is not a reference to time but quality.

A. The Kingdom of God could be described as follows:
• a society where God rules
• a place where death is overcome
• a place where diseases are cured
• a place where evil spirits are overcome
• a place where people find a home and shelter in difficult times

B. Its characteristics and values could be as follows:
• faith
• simplicity of a child / purity
• belongs to those who make God their number one in everything
• love God and love their neighbours
• honesty / truth
• humility
• joy in others’ achievements
• wealth and ambition must be sacrificed

C. How can I make God top of my priorities? - Genesis 17:1

Notice that God instructed Abraham to be habitual in walking with Him and living for Him. We can do this by establishing daily habits of prayer, worship and regular, consistent time spent in His Word. It contains wisdom, encouragement, comfort and inspiration for every conceivable human problem or dilemma. His Word brings peace and stability to our spirits, and it will renew our minds (see Romans 12:2). Get excited about getting into the Bible!

Conclusion
The kingdom of God refers to God's reign on earth and in heaven. However, while we are still here on earth He wants to reign in our hearts. It is about His kingship and our obedience to His rule. In His kingdom, the first shall be last, the broken are blessed, we look out for our neighbours and we rejoice when the lost are found. What is your priority in life. Make it your goal to have a deep, intimate relationship with God. Let Him into every area of your life.
